6-Foot-8 Playmaker Bralen Taylor Releases His Top Six Schools

Bralen Taylor, a 6-foot-8 three-star pass-catching weapon from South Texas, gave Scout some insight into the top six he released Monday night.

South Texas standout Bralen Taylor showed up at The Opening Houston on Feb. 4, measured 6-foot-8 and 221 pounds, and has since picked up nine FBS offers, six of which have come from Power Five conference programs.

Taylor released a top six list Monday evening that included BaylorHoustonMiamiNebraskaOregon, and TCU.

Taylor gave Scout some insight as to why each program made his top six cut:

  • Baylor -- "Baylor is a very lit place! They show love. Baylor is about to turn that whole thing around, I promise ya."

  • Houston -- "Houston was the first school to believe in me. They offered first."

  • Miami -- "I plan to visit them! They've got the tight ends no doubt."

  • Nebraska -- "They offered me today! As a wideout. It shows me how much they believe in me."

  • Oregon -- "I mean who doesn't know them? They show me the most love! They had to make the list."

  • TCU -- "I just visited and I liked it a lot! TCU felt like a warm welcome. They are so cool!"

Scout projects Taylor as a tight end, but as you can see, at least one major program wants him as a huge outside receiver. Because of his frame, Taylor has a high ceiling as he continues to develop.

As a junior, Taylor played multiple offensive roles for Cuero High, which he helped to a 13-1 record and the Texas Class 4A Division II state quarterfinals.

Taylor accounted for 1,103 total yards of offense and 15 total touchdowns. He threw for 181 yards, one TD, and one INT, while rushing for 545 yards and 10 TD's on 10.1 yards per carry. Taylor caught 18 passes for 377 yards and four touchdowns on 20.9 yards per reception.

Stick with Scout as we continue to monitor Taylor's recruitment and development.
