  • Height: 6-5
  • Weight: 264
  • Recruiting: Following a strong junior season, Syptak has emerged within the past couple of weeks on the recruiting trail. SMU and Bowling Green are his first two FBS offers, in addition to FCS offers from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, and Yale. Syptak attended the recent junior day event at Baylor as well.

Notable

2016: Syptak started at right tackle for a 15-1 The Woodlands team that reached the Texas Class 6A Division I state championship round.

Evaluation notes

Jake Syptak is a big-framed, intelligent offensive tackle prospect who will garner FBS and likely Power Five recruiting attention.

Syptak's 6-foot-5 frame and large wingspan will serve him well as he transitions to the next level. He could potentially play tackle or guard, but that frame may keep him at tackle for the duration. He takes good angles on his assignments and finishes blocks with regularity.

Syptak can improve his body control and get-off, but he has a high ceiling overall, especially in pass protection, because of his size potential and his attention to detail. He's a high academic achiever and that will impress a lot of schools looking for a quality OT in the 2018 class. - Gabe Brooks
