2018 TE/ATH Charles Robinson nets first offers

Waubonsie Valley (Ill.) junior Charles Robinson is a big, versatile athlete who now has two power-five offers to his name and a host of other programs looking his way.

The term "jumbo athlete" certainly applies to Charles Robinson. After an excellent junior season at Waubonsie Valley, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Robinson is having a big impact as a receiver on BOOM's 7 on 7 team. He could project to receiver, tight end or a defensive position in college.

Recently, his size and skills netted him his first two offers. Mississippi State was first, then Iowa State followed.

"It was real exciting," he said. "I was with some friends from BOOM and it was cool that I had someone to experience it with."

He added, "I visited Iowa State but not Mississippi State. I had a great time at Iowa State. They treated me real well."

The Cyclones also discussed the position they see him at come college.

"Most schools are recruiting me as both (receiver and tight end), but when I got offered by Iowa State, they said they are looking at me for outside linebacker."

The Bulldogs are a little further away, so Robinson is not certain when he will make it there or any other schools yet given his 7 on 7 schedule, but he does have many other programs aiming to get him on campus.

"No visits planned, but Iowa, Michigan State, Wisconsin (who he visited for junior day), Toledo and Illinois have invited me to spring games."
