Recruiting Update with Four-Star OL Owen Condon

Four-star offensive lineman Owen Condon has racked up an impressive offer list and is one of the top prospects up front in the Midlands region.

Owen Condon, a 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle from Oklahoma City (Okla.) Bishop Mcguinness checks in as a four-star prospect and is rated in the Scout Top 300 and he already has a long list of suitors and his offer list will continue to grow and grow as colleges evaluate him throughout the spring.

"I'm at 11 (offers)," Condon said.

"In January of last year the first one came in from Ohio. It was pretty unexpected because all I had done up to that point was unofficial to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, so that was obviously a big moment. After that I got SMU, Tulsa, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Louisiana-Monroe, and then Kansas offered about a month ago and that kind of set off another big one and that would be Arkansas.

"That was my first SEC offer," Condon continued. "I also really like the offer from Vanderbilt as well because of the academics that they have. Those are some of the big moments in my recruitment so far."

The offer from Arkansas was admittedly a "big moment" for Condon, so he went on to explain why.

"Arkansas was really of big, because they jumped in, and Arkansas is probably the biggest program that has offered so far," Condon said. "They jumped in and said that they really weren't going to wait around and that they really liked my film and they just offered me and pulled the trigger early and I respect that and really like that about Arkansas."

While his current offer list now boasts a half dozen P5-level offers, Condon is a prospect who is still hearing from a wide array of top college programs and has interest in many of them.

He is not quite ready to start to narrow his focus and he is interested in looking at all areas of the country for his best opportunity and fit on the next level.

"I went up to Oklahoma State last week and coach (Josh) Henson is the offensive line coach there," Condon reported. "He said that he would be getting back with me next week about my recruitment and where things are going to go from there. They are showing me some interest right now. I have started talking to the offensive line coach at Georgia and I am interested in Florida. I have a great uncle who played there and my grandfather went there.

Three other schools I am really interested in are Notre DameTexas -- coach (Derek) Warehime (Texas Offensive Line Coach) -- knows me from Houston where I met him at camp. He has been talking to me a lot and they want me to come down there and get some one-on-one time and watch them practice.

And another school I would be interested in is Stanford, but I have not heard very much from them."

Condon helped Bishop Mcguinness to a 12-2 record and the state championship game, paving the the way to over 200 rushing yards per game. He earned First Team All-State honors for his efforts.

"What colleges love about me is that I am a legit 6'7, 6'6 and 3/4 guy," Condon said. "For how big I am I can move my feet for that size, colleges tell me.  I have good academics, so I check all of the boxes on that side of things."
