2018 DT Tola Banjoko impressed by Wisconsin trip

Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal defensive tackle Tola Banjoko visited Wisconsin yesterday and spoke with Scout following the trip.

Wisconsin offered defensive tackle Tola Banjoko last month.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Banjoko took a trip to Madison yesterday.

"The visit was great," Banjoko said. "I got to go around the athletic facilities and the stadium. Then we toured the campus and saw the basketball game.

"The campus was beautiful and the facilities are top-notch. I'd say my favorite part was talking to the players and coaches. I really enjoyed the trip overall and plan to get to a game this fall."

The Episcopal standout was with one coach the most.

"I spent the most time with (defensive coordinator) coach (Jim) Leonhard," Banjoko said. "We talked about a lot of things. I like how it's easy to talk to him and he always honest."

Before leaving, he spoke with head coach Paul Chryst.

"I was able to talk to him one-on-one," Banjoko said. "It meant a lot that he took time out of his day to speak to me.

"He talked about trying to improve upon the success Wisconsin has had in the past couple seasons and that really stood out."

Along with the Badgers, Banjoko holds offers from GeorgiaNC StateNorth CarolinaRutgersSyracuseVirginia and Wake Forest among others.
