Even though the plethora of offers he's received might be quite surprising to three-star offensive tackle Darian Kinnard, the Cleveland St. Ignatius product has the size and the film to justify college interest.
Playing for one of Ohio's top high school programs, Kinnard is closing in on 20 offers in total. His latest was from UCLA, and it put the Bruins into his list of favorites.
"Like with most of these recent offers, it was a shock and came out of nowhere to be honest," Kinnard stated. "UCLA had sent me a text to call them, and when I did things kind of snowballed and they offered me."
"I'm definitely going to consider them, and distance is going to be fine because my mom is going to move with me when I go to college," he added. "I know UCLA has a beautiful campus and I like their program. I want to visit there, but it might not be until fall when the official visits start."
Even though Kinnard does not have an official top-five yet, there are schools sticking out to him.
"I haven't gotten offers from LSU, Ohio State or Penn State yet, but I'd love to have one from any of these schools," Kinnard said. "I'm thinking if more offers come in I might want to wait until later in my senior year to make my choice. I want to take visits this spring."
Scout will continue to track Kinnard over the coming months, and will report any new offers or visits.
