Halid Djibril Has Versatility On Defense

Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral linebacker/safety Halid Djibril can play a number of positions and is nearing double-digit offers...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral linebacker/safety Halid Djibril is one of the more versatile defenders in the Southland in the 2018 class.

Djibril has nine offers in, from Boise State, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon State, San Jose State, Utah State and Washington State

"The ones standing out are Utah State, Illinois, Colorado, Hawaii, Washington State and Oregon State," said Djibril.

A few other schools are talking with Djibril too.

"I'm talking to Washington and to Arizona," said Djibril.  "Rhedi (Short, his Cathedral teammate) is talking with Arizona some too for me."

Oregon State signed two of his teammates last month, Jeffrey Manning and Arex Flemings, and Djibril said both are working on him.

"Oh yeah, they're definitely talking with me and trying to get me up there," said Djibril.

Djibril said he's hoping to get to the two Los Angeles schools, USC and UCLA this spring and hopes they show more interest.

As for his position in college, Djibril said he's open to anything.

"Schools like me for safety and nickel but they like to see me blitz off the edge," said Djibril. "I'm athletic on the field."

Djibril doesn't plan to rush things in his recruitment.

"I'm going to take my time in the process and take some official visits," said Djibril.

Djibril said his GPA is currently a 4.0
