Newbury Park (Calif.) defensive back Josh Madison (5-11, 195) has a half-dozen offers, all from programs in the West.
More schools are in contact with Madison too and he's hopeful that they could offer soon.
One of Madison's coaches, Keith Smith, played quarterback at Arizona and Madison said he's pushing the Wildcats to offer.
"Coach Smith does that with a lot of colleges but definitely with Arizona, really trying to plug me with them," said Madison.
The DB coach recruiting Marques is also recruiting me and they're closing in on an offer," said Madison. "I know Marques talks to him every day about me."
Madison's quarterback at Newbury Park is Scout 100 passer Cameron Rising and Madison knows a steady stream of coaches figures to roll in this spring.
"I'm really fired up for the spring and working a lot on getting better for when the coaches come," said Madison. "Doing 7v7 with ProWay too is helping me get prepared for next season and fired up to show the coaches what I can do."
Madison said all of his recruiting attention is coming as a defensive back.
"Utah offered me as an athlete, but more as a cornerback or safety but every other offer was as a safety," said Madison. "Defense is where my heart is at."
Madison doesn't see an early decision coming.
"I want to take as much time as I need, go through the process, take some visits and be ready for my decision," said Madison.
