Georgia latest to offer three-star CB Steven Gilmore

Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe cornerback Steven Gilmore picked up a scholarship from Georgia last week and spoke with Scout about the Bulldogs.

Steven Gilmore played a big role in South Pointe's state championship season last fall. Due to his efforts, Gilmore's recruitment is picking up steam.

Georgia was the latest school to offer.

"It definitely felt great to get the offer and it's a blessing," said the 5-foot-11, 165-pound Gilmore.  "They have a great fan base that really supports the program. The offer definitely makes a big impact on my recruitment.

"(Tight ends) coach (Shane) Beamer offered me. I'm still getting to know him, but I can tell he really cares about his players and would do anything he could to help them."

Gilmore will head to Athens soon.

"I'll probably go down there sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to to the trip.

"I want to meet the coaches and get to know them. I also want to see how they do things and what their relationships are like with their players."

Besides Georgia, East Carolina and South Carolina have offered, while DukeNC State and Virginia Tech are showing interest.
