Florida-Based 2018 Signal-Caller, Riley Smith, Anticipates a Whirlwind of an Offseason With Several Visit Destinations in Mind

Riley Smith, a three-star gunslinger out of the 2018 class, is anticipating an eventful offseason with the spring evaluation period right around the corner.

Big things are on the horizon for three-star signal-caller and 2018 prospect, Riley Smith, who's now closing in on 20 scholarship offers after receiving word from the Troy Trojans on Tuesday.

"It feels amazing, especially since I've been overlooked in the past," Smith said. "The hard work, dedication, and patience has definitely paid off and it's one of the best feelings ever."

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Smith, who's not even the full-time starter for his high school team with Auburn commit Joey Gatewood also on the roster, is forever grateful for each of the offers that have came his way, but is also patiently waiting on a Power Five school to ramp up the pressure and dive into the mix with an offer of their own.

"I'm not sure; I don't have any Power Five offers yet," Smith replied when asked about leaders in his recruitment. "I would definitely say Harvard and Yale are up there.

"Also TroyGeorgia State and Western Kentucky."

For Smith, there certainly won't be much of an offseason and time to kick back in the recliner.

"I'm definitely going to take some Ivy (League) visits coming up this spring," Smith said. "I also might make my way up to Central Michigan, WKU and Georgia State.

"UF and FSU camps this summer, too."

As always, stay tuned to Scout.
