3-Star DB Taj Ward Lands Another Power-5 Offer

Solon's Taj Ward is one of the top defensive back prospects in the state of Ohio, and he has started picking up offers. He now holds four, with Iowa State being his latest.

The state of Ohio has a strong class of defensive back prospects for 2018, and one of the more talented is Solon's Taj Ward. He can play either safety or cornerback.

Ward holds four offers at this time, with his most recent offer coming from Iowa State. He is definitely interested in the Cyclones.

"Iowa State had called my coach and told him they were offering, and it really came out of nowhere," Ward stated. "I talked to (assistant coach) Tom Manning later, and he was the one who gave me the offer from Iowa State."

"Coach Manning said they really liked my film a lot, as well as my size and my ball skills," he added. "He thinks I could be a perfect fit for their team. I think that could be a good opportunity for me."

"I'm interested in Iowa State, and I need to learn more about the program," he continued. "I want to get out there for a visit."

Several other schools are showing interest Ward, and one in-state school has his attention.

"I'm also hearing from Cincinnati, and I'm very interested in them," Ward explained. "I've been talking to Coach (Joker) Phillips. I'm going to go there for a visit on April 8."

"I really like Cincinnati, and I think it's a great school because I've had family graduate from there," he said.

Scout will continue to track Ward, and will report any new offers or visits he takes in the future.
