The above video features footage of 2019 defensive tackle Lloyd Murray from Wichita Falls (Texas) Hirschi at this past weekend's The Opening Dallas regional camp.
Murray, an early pledge to Florida State, was one of the few 2019 prospects who stood out during linemen work, along with Allen High standout Jayden Jernigan, who earned a Final Five berth at camp's end. Murray arrived at 6-foot-1, 320 pounds in morning measurements.
The camp setting does not allow defensive linemen to bull rush, so Murray's power and strength in 1-on-1 situations were not showcased as much as when in full pads on the field. Nevertheless, he showed a promising ability to quickly get off the ball and make first contact. He's raw developmentally, but he's a bull in the phone booth who can push around opposing offensive linemen.
Murray debuted as a sophomore this past fall, when he registered 19 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two QB hurries in seven games.
