Scout Shines Its 2019 Focus on the Recruitment of DE Marcus Hicks

Recruiting fans will want to get the know the name of Marcus Hicks, a big-bodied defensive end from Wichita, Kan., who already has two offers.

Marcus Hicks, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound defensive end from Wichita (Kan.) Northwest was one of the most physically impressive players at The Opening Dallas.

On the field he likes to use his frame and size to get after the passer.

"I feel like I am really good at rushing the passer and I have been told that I have a really good bull rush," Hicks said. "I am pretty fast for my size, so I think that is pretty good."

On the recruiting front, Hics has already secured two P5 offers from the Big 12 Conference and has had the opportunity to speak with one of college football's most recognizable head coaches.

"I have offers from Oklahoma State and Kansas State," Hicks said, "and I have talked with Jim Harbaugh from Michigan and I have talked with Coach (David) Beaty from Kansas."

Hicks is honored to have such great early attention and not have the pressure of worrying about college offers.

"It is really exciting," Hicks informed. "I didn’t expect to get such good offers early on so I am looking to get even more."

He has taken a few unofficial visits as well

"Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Kansas," Hicks answered when asked about visits he has been on. "I liked all of them I liked the weight rooms and it looks like they have good nutrition and to get bigger to get to the next level."
