Recruiting Update with Dallas-area DB Dayven Coleman

Scout caught up with Dayven Coleman to get a break down on his latest recruiting news and notes. His frame will impress colleges looking for a defensive back when they see him this spring.

Dayven Coleman, a 6-foot-1 1/2, 205-pound defensive back from Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite has an interesting offer list that is right around the double-digit marker.

Coleman broke down some of the latest news and notes.

"Minnesota," Coleman said, "I talked to them a lot. The day the offered me I talked to the secondary coach four times and everyday and we are just building a relationship. He even talked to my girlfriend.

"I talk to Colorado a lot. Florida State, all they want to see me is run a track time and they are going to offer."

"Kansas State is real big one. I started talking to Kansas State a lot. They liked my film and are real big on me. They told my coach they are going to offer me, they told my coach they are going to confirm my offer. Syracuse they just offered me. That was big one. I had been wanting that one since the summer. I just want to go somewhere and play football."

Colorado hit the Lone Star State hard with offers last year and ended up signing some excellent talent and they have also focused back in on the state in 2018 and Coleman is one prospect who has been targeted.

"My first power 5 was Colorado," Coleman said. "They offered me when I was at the barber shop. When they did that I had to tell my barber to stop and everything. This year they had a really good year and finished Top 25 in the nation and they are program on the rise."

Coleman feels like he has a blend of skills that will be attractive to colleges.

"My biggest strength as a player," Coleman began, "I am big (and) I am physical on the line. It is hard for them (receivers) to get off the press. I can run, I can move. I got footwork and the hips."
