Antoine Sampah

2020 ILB Antoine Sampah attracting early interest from ACC and Big Ten

Woodbridge (Va.) freshman linebacker Antoine Sampah exploded onto the high school football scene in Northern Virginia last fall. Due to his efforts, major college football programs are already showing interest.

Three games into his high school career, Antoine Sampah made the move from JV to varsity football at Woodbridge High School.

He never looked back and earned all-conference honors as a freshman. Not surprisingly, schools are already showing interest.

"So far, I've heard from SyracuseVirginiaVirginia Tech and Michigan," said the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Sampah. "All four have shown a significant amount of interest and I'm in the process of learning more about each school."

According to Woodbridge head coach Gary Wortham, there is a lot to like about Sampah.

"As a freshman, he grasped our entire playbook," Wortham said. "That was probably the most impressive. But also being able to adjust to varsity level and quickly become a starter as a freshman at inside linebacker was really special. His tenacity and the fact that he tackles so well also stand out."

The Woodbridge standout will be busy this spring.

"I'm going to visit Syracuse, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Michigan," Sampah said.

Although he is excited about the recruiting process, his main focus is becoming a better player.

"I'm really working on my footwork and getting faster," Sampah said. "Honestly, I'm going to work on becoming better in all areas."
