But at this point, the four-star has a trio of Pac-12 schools ahead of the rest.

"I'd say right now, WashingtonUSC and UCLA are standing out to me," said Spiker.

Washington has long maintained a presence in Spiker's recruitment and appeared to be out in front.

But just days before he took an unofficial visit to Washington, receivers coach Bush Hamdan, who had been instrumental in his recruitment, left for an NFL assistant position.

"I went up there a couple days after Coach Bush was gone and Coach (Matt) Lubick wasn't hired yet," said Spiker.  "Coach Lubick is recruiting me now, but I haven't seen him in person, just talked to him over the phone.  But he's pretty cool.  When I went up, I talked mostly with Coach Pete (head coach Chris Petersen) and Coach (Jonathan) Smith."

Still, the Huskies remain in the mix.

"I mean, it went down just a little because I was so close with Coach Bush, but not out of the running at all," said Spiker.  "Coach Lubick is a great coach and I still like Washington a lot."

USC offered Spiker not long after their Rising Stars Camp last summer, where Spiker shined.

"I went up to USC for a practice before the Rose Bowl but I haven't gone up there since for an unofficial so I'm going to go up there here soon while they're in spring practice," said Spiker.  "Coach (Tee) Martin is recruiting me to USC and I really like him."

UCLA offered Spiker during the season and new offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch and new receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty have been running point.

"I like Coach Fisch a lot, he's real cool and hits me up a lot.  Me and my quarterback (2019 four-star Hank Bachmeier) are going to go up there for a visit.  Coach Dougherty and my head coach at my high school are really good friends too," said Spiker.

While those three stand out, Spiker said he's still talking with a handful of other schools.

"I'm talking a little bit with Arizona StateOregon and Washington State too," said Spiker.

Spiker has an ideal timeframe for when he wants to make a decision.

"I think I want to do it sooner than later and I'm thinking it will be before my season," said Spiker.
