4-star WR Michael Wilson Likes Handful of Schools

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade four-star receiver Michael Wilson has a handful of schools that he likes early on...

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade receiver Michael Wilson is sitting on a dozen offers.

But the four-star has a few schools standing out to him.

"I have 12 offers but I'd say the ones standing out are Notre Dame, California, Oregon and Washington," said Wilson. "And I've been talking consistently with Stanford and I'm hopeful that offer comes later."

Wilson visited Stanford earlier this month for Junior Day and Wilson is high on the Cardinal.

"It's all depending on my ACT scores," said Wilson.  "I take the ACT on April 8 so when I get my scores, we'll see if Stanford offers me.  I was up there last weekend for Junior Day and it was beautiful.  It's just a beautiful campus.  I didn't realize how the environment and the atmosphere was so great.  It is full of people you just want to hang with.  And it's a school that is hard to beat in terms of athletics and academics.  It is totally different than all of the programs.  They only offer 30 guys, some schools offer 30 receivers.  It is one of the toughest offers to get.  You could be a five-star, but if you can't get into school, you won't get an offer. You have to be equally good at sports and have the grades to back it up."

Wilson is being recruited by receivers coach Tavita Pritchard.

"Coach Pritchard is recruiting me and he's just staying in touch and we'll see what my ACT ends up being," said Wilson.

Wilson landed his first offer from Washington when Bush Hamdan was still the receivers coach but has talked with new receivers coach Matt Lubick at length.

"Washington was my first offer but that was when Bush was the coach.  But I've talked with Coach Lubick and I like him, he's real nice.  He's a different kind of recruiter from Bush, but he's been really honest about their receivers.  They have one commit already and they're only taking three receivers, so he's just told me if they get two more commitments before I'm ready, they'd stop taking commits, so I have to consider that," said Wilson.

Wilson is hoping to check out Cal and Oregon as well at some point this spring and is talking with both consistently and he also plans to get down to UCLA, who has offered him, for an unofficial visit in the next few weeks.
