Jashon Watkins had a breakout season last fall.
The 6-foot-4, 183-pound Watkins finished his sophomore campaign with over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, he had 40 tackles.
His scholarship list has reached double digits and Florida was the latest to pull the trigger.
"Florida is a big-time school and they've produced a lot of big-time players over the years," Watkins said. "Getting an offer from them is amazing. I'm going to their spring game and I'm looking forward to seeing some great action on both sides of the ball.
"(Defensive backs) coach (Corey) Bell is recruiting me and I like him. I love that he's always asking me to come visit. He's told me I can come down anytime and treats me like family. He said he's looking forward to talking more when I go down there."
Notre Dame was his most recent visit.
"I went last November for the Virginia Tech game and I loved it," Watkins said. "I had a chance to see the facilities and meet a couple of the coaches. They made me feel like family and the game was great. The atmosphere was great, too, and the crowd was very into the game. That was probably my favorite part.
"I've stayed in contact with (defensive line) coach (Mike) Elston and he's told me a lot about the school. He's said it's a very good program and wants me to come back and visit again as soon as possible. I'm going back this spring."
Besides Notre Dame, he plans to take many other visits, but has not scheduled anything yet.
