AAC, ACC schools first to show interest in 2020 WR Jahmal Banks

Arlington (Va.) Bishop O'Connell freshman wide receiver Jahmal Banks is poised to be one of the top 2020 prospects in the state and spoke with Scout.

Jahmal Banks made an immediate impact for Bishop O'Connell as a freshman last fall. By the end of the season, he had established himself as the team's best receiver.

Although it is very early, Banks has already heard from a few schools.

"So far, East CarolinaBoston College and VMI have shown interest," said the 6-foot-3, 170-pound Banks. "It shows my hard work is paying off.

"I'd also like to hear from FloridaUSC and UCLA. Those are some schools I watched a lot growing up."

Banks hopes to visit some schools in the near future.

"I'd like to go to DukeClemson and Penn State soon," Banks said. "I'm playing AAU basketball this summer, but I'm going to try to go to some football camps, too."

Although he is excited about the recruiting process, his main focus is becoming a better player.

"Honestly, I'm working to become better in every aspect of my game," Banks said. "But some of the areas I'm really focused on are getting off the line quicker and coming back to the ball."

Banks finished his freshman season with 13 catches for 256 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he added 14 tackles and two interceptions.
