2018 RB Jahmir Smith recaps Wisconsin visit

Sanford (N.C.) Lee County running back Jahmir Smith visited Wisconsin Tuesday and spoke to Scout following trip.

Over the past few months, Jahmir Smith has been one of the hottest prospects in North Carolina and his scholarship total has grown to double digits.

One of the first schools to offer was Wisconsin and he visited Madison on Tuesday.

"I really enjoyed the visit and it was a great learning experience," said the 6-foot, 195-pound Smith. "I watched practice, met with the coaches, ate lunch and met some of the players.

"They also gave me a tour of the school and I'd say that was my favorite part. It was great having a chance to see everything. It was also cool learning about the history and tradition of the program. The facilities were really nice, too."

The Lee County standout spent the most time with running backs coach John Settle.

"He said I was the top back for them and I would fit really well in their offense," Smith said. "I like how he's really laid back and cool."

He also had a chance to speak with head coach Paul Chryst.

"Coach Chryst sat down and talked to me and my uncle," Smith said. "He's also really cool and laid back. I enjoyed talking to him.

"He talked about what makes a player great and how I'd be a great fit in their offense."

Smith's next visit will be to Northwestern on April 1.
