Star 2020 Recruit Leonard Manuel Relishes Tuesday's Visit With the Florida Gators

Leonard Manuel, a Sunshine State native and one of the elite prospects in the 2020 class, spent his Tuesday afternoon with the in-state Florida Gators.

A flurry of top-shelf recruits journeyed up to Gainesville to spend their Tuesday afternoon with coach Jim McElwain and the Florida Gators, with one being Leonard Manuel, a 2020 pass catcher that's already snagged a verbal offer from the SEC school

Manuel, a product of Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard, is also armed with offers from the likes of Miami (Fl)GeorgiaAuburnNorth CarolinaKentucky and Missouri.

"It was pretty good," Manuel said. "It was real cool watching them practice. All of the coaches greeted us very well, and I really like their receivers coach (Kerry Dixon) and the receivers they have there.

"It's fun because I think they wish I could come there now. I just like the way their receivers coach has them working, and also the drills they do. They're all into it. If someone drops a ball, they're right back on the line."

College coaches are currently restricted from making phone calls to 2020 prospects, but Manuel does a good job of making himself available by initiating contact with Florida's coaching staff.

"I spoke mostly with (tight ends) coach Greg Nord and the receivers coach," Manuel said. "Coach Nord, he's a good guy. When I do call him and talk to him, we'll sit and talk on the phone for a while. He's real cool.

"They're really recruiting me hard right now."

Manuel, a lifelong Miami fan who rated today's visit a "7.5" on a 1-10 scale, has no leaders or additional visits scheduled.
