Pacific Palisades (Calif.) Palisades offensive lineman Syr Riley (6-3, 320) is emerging as one of the City Section's top offensive linemen to watch.
Riley has three early offers, primarily as an offensive lineman.
In addition, Riley has had a few other schools tell him they'll be by in the spring to check him out.
"San Diego State, Boise State and UCLA have all contacted me in the last few days and USC said they would be coming by this spring," said Riley. "Washington State, Navy, UCLA and Cal also said they would be coming by. And Oregon is going to come by in the spring."
Riley said his offers have been for the offensive line but defense isn't completely out of the question.
"Cal and Washington State both offered for offensive line, mostly as a guard, but Navy thought I could play both ways," said Riley. "I'm playing a lot of positions this year to give prospective colleges a look at what I can do."
A Southland native, Riley said he grew up watching USC and that was the family school.
"I grew up watching USC and UCLA but my parents are USC fans, though my brother liked UCLA," said Riley. "But I grew up watching USC a little more."
In addition, a number of Ive League schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown and Penn have all contacted Riley and Penn and Princeton invited him to Junior Day.
Riley said he's trying to drop some weight by the time the season starts.
"I'm at 320 now but I want to be around 315 by the start of spring and when the new season starts, I want to be around 305," said Riley.
He'll take his time through the recruiting process.
"I'm not in a rush," said Riley. "I'd like to take my time and feel everything out."
