4-Star Aeneas Hawkins Has Decision Date Set

Aeneas Hawkins is listed as one of the top defensive tackle prospects in America, and he has the offer list to back that up. Hawkins is closing in on his date to decide his college choice.

Decision Day is looming for four-star defensive tackle Aeneas Hawkins, and the Cincinnati Moeller product has plenty of great programs fighting to land his services.

Hawkins holds an offer list that numbers nearly 30, and a look at the film shows why he is being recruited so heavily.

"I'm going to shut everything down on May 10, and make my decision," Hawkins stated. "I do not have an official list of schools because I have a few visits left to take. With that being said, Notre DameAlabamaClemsonPenn StateOhio State and Cincinnati are my favorites among schools I have visited."

Hawkins took the time to explain what he likes best about each of the schools he listed as favorites at this time.

NOTRE DAME: They have recruited me the longest out of these schools. I am very comfortable with Coach (Mike) Elston, and one of my first role models, Elijah Taylor, is developing well there."

ALABAMA: They became a top school for me after my visit. The reason for that is because I am 100% convinced my development in their program will be great. Coach (Nick) Saban is all business, and that reminds me of my high school coach."

CLEMSON: They are hot right now, and have been for a few years now. Coach (Dabo) Swinney is putting the pieces together, and I love the city and the atmosphere on that team.

PENN STATE: They're obviously hot on the football field and on the recruiting trail. That's a testament to Coach (James) Franklin, and his great staff. They have made me feel like a priority, and that's exciting.

OHIO STATE: They are as good a program as any other one in the country. Coach (Urban) Meyer will go down as one of the greatest. However, to me, the most important people on that staff are Larry Johnson and Mickey Marotti. I think they are both among the best ever at their jobs.

CINCINNATI: Last but not least, are the Bearcats. There is not a coaching staff in AMerica I'm more comfortable with than this one under Luke Fickell. They are young and hungry, and you can see it infecting the entire school.

Scout will continue to track Hawkins throughout the process, including his final decision. Top Stories
