Takacs, a well-rounded prospect out of Naples (Fla.) Gulf Coast that measures in at 6-foot-7, 236 pounds, is equipped with roughly two-dozen additional offers, including ones from Florida, Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.
"I didn't know too much about Wisconsin before I came up, but I was blown away with the visit," Takacs said. "The coaches were great and I feel like it could be a great fit.
"The coaching staff was great, and a lot of them playing there means a lot. They seem to really care about the program. Madison was awesome too."
The three-star prospect is well aware of the Badgers' rich tradition between the white lines, but knows they can help fulfill his full potential in the classroom as well, making the city of Madison even more of an intriguing destination.
"The coaching staff keeps telling me that I'm a great fit for Wisconsin, both on the field and off," Takacs said. "They said Wisconsin is one of the best football schools in the country, but also a great academic school."
The Sunshine State native served up a top three of Florida, Georgia and Wisconsin at The Opening Miami, but an offer from a school many consider as "Tight End U" recently convinced him to expand to a top four.
"It's the same (group of schools), except with Notre Dame up with those schools," Takacs said. "Notre Dame is a great school for tight ends. They have a great football tradition, and it's a good academic school too."
Takacs is spending much of today at the University of Florida, but also plans to visit the Fighting Irish March 31.
