Most people across the country might find it odd that Tennessee would issue an offer to a player that is still in middle school and yet to play a down of high school football, but 2021 prospect Jacorey Brooks is not the normal eighth grade phenom.
Brooks has the size and speed college coaches are looking for, and he is already turning heads in the Miami area with his play for famed 7-on-7 team South Florida Express.
Tennessee wide receivers coach Kevin Beard is as plugged in to the Miami high school scene as any coach in America, so it's no surprise to see the Vols be the first to offer Brooks.
"I'm in eighth grad right now, and I will be going to Booker T. Washington next year," Brooks stated. "My school didn't have a football team for the eighth grade, so I just played Optimist League football this year."
"Getting this offer from Tennessee is unbelievable to me," he added. "I know they're in the SEC and that's great football, so I'm very happy to have this offer. The coaches at Booker T. are supposed to be setting up a college tour this summer for us."
"This feels very shocking to me as an eighth grader, but I'm looking forward to going up to Tennessee and seeing what they're all about," he continued. "I really like LSU, because I know they really develop wide receivers well."
Scout will continue to track this exciting 2021 prospect throughout his recruitment.
