Jerome Carvin has emerged as one of the top offensive tackles in the South.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Carvin was recently offered by Alabama.
"They're the best team in the nation and they have great tradition, so it's special to get that offer," Carvin said. "They've been recruiting me since the 10th grade. I've visited four times and the facilities and the coaches really stand out.
"(Offensive line) coach (Brent) Key is recruiting me and we have a good relationship. He's a great coach and puts offensive linemen in the NFL. I'm going to probably go back down in April."
Auburn offered the following day.
"It's also a big offer and I like how their offensive line plays," Carvin said. "I'm planning to visit on April 8 and looking forward to talking to all the coaches and watching them practice.
"Coach (Herb) Hand is a well-known offensive line coach and we're building a good relationship. He's a great coach and a great man. (Tight ends) coach (Larry) Porter just joined the staff and he's going to be recruiting my area, so I'm looking forward to developing a relationship with him, too."
As for other visits, he plans to take trips to Florida, Mississippi State and South Carolina in the near future.
