Watch Memphis edge rusher standout and Alabama commitment Jordan Davis work at The Opening New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS -- Scout took in every competition rep rising edge rusher prospect Jordan Davis took over the weekend at The Opening New Orleans.

Evaluation Notes: Named to Scout's top 10 defensive performer list in addition to cracking Student Sports' "Final Five" during The Opening New Orleans on Sunday, Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind pass rusher Jordan Davis continues to impress the more he is seen. After emerging at the event as a lean, twitchy edge talent one year ago, he has added some 20 pounds to his frame and it has helped to round out his arsenal against blockers. Davis can still win considerable reps because of an above average first step and solid quickness therafter, but now he can counter the speed and agility with power moves at the point of attack. There wasn't a better defensive end rusher at the event and with the way he is carrying 240 pounds, Davis still has some room to add more bulk to his frame.

Recruiting Notes: Davis has been committed to Alabama since December. He has several additional offers and continues to take visits to SEC programs like LSU and Tennessee, among others.
