Virginia Tech Pulls Ahead for 2018 Three-Star RB Malcolm Davidson

There is a leader in the recruitment of 2018 Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola three-star running back, Malcolm Davidson.

Virginia Tech dished out an offer Tuesday evening, and now leads for three-star running back, Malcolm Davidson, a 2018 prospect at Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola.

Davidson, who racked up over 1,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior, is equipped with roughly a dozen additional scholarship offers, including ones from Kentucky and Missouri.

"They are just the biggest school of them all," Davidson said. "I have always liked them, and also named them in my top five before I even had offers.

"I like the way Virginia Tech runs their offense."

The field-stretching tailback admits he still needs to construct tight-knit relationships with coach Justin Fuente's staff, but is pleased with how everything is going up to this point.

"My relationship with their staff isn't as tight yet because I just got to know them today," Davidson said. "It's going pretty well as of the first day."

A flurry of suitors are tagging Davidson as a priority heading into the spring, but coach Mark Stoops and Kentucky are going as far as saying the Sunshine State native is atop their running back big board.

"They just tell me I'm their top back and they really like how I play," Davidson said. "They want to get me up there to visit sometime. I don't really know too much about Kentucky, but they are SEC.

"Their running backs coach just always hits me up telling me how their practices go and that they really like me. I'm going to go up there for their junior day."

Davidson says Georgia Tech and South Florida are possible visit destinations over the spring as well.
