On February 6, former Scout three-star football recruit and South Carolina Gamecock edge defender Quandeski Whitlow, better known as 'Boosie,' announced his intentions to leave the program and the university.
Many programs immediately began contacting the defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid from junior colleges to ACC programs. Still adding scholarship offers, Louisville, North Carolina and Troy have emerged as the favorites for his commitment. Each program has offered him a scholarship and he intends on taking official visits to each before an April decision.
Louisville, which recruited him and hosted him for an official visit as a senior at Opelika (Ala.) High, will get him back on campus for another official visit before the others.
"I'm starting my OV's next weekend," Whitlow told Scout. "Right now I got 3. Louisville, UNC and Troy. I'm going to Louisville next weekend. And the other two haven't finished scheduling me yet.
"But I'm still considering all other schools that offered."
Whitlow, who has to sit out the 2017 season unless he elects to play FCS or junior college football, flashed as a freshman for the Gamecocks during his 12 games of action. He recorded 14 tackles and a sack during the 2015 season but did not play in 2016.
A final decision could come before the end of April, he said.
