Emerging Louisiana Safety Lance Robinson Talks Kansas State Offer and More Power Five Conference Interest

NEW ORLEANS -- With a strong performance at The Opening New Orleans, emerging Louisiana safety approaches double-digit offers and has visited Kansas State, his first Power Five conference offer.

Talented 2018 safety Lance Robinson entered this past weekend's The Opening New Orleans with eight offers. Following a triple-digit Nike Football Rating thanks to his stellar testing performance, Robinson should garner continued recruiting attention the rest of the spring.

The New Orleans De La Salle standout measured 5-foot-10, 175 pounds and ran a laser-timed 4.62-second 40 with an impressive 4.12-second shuttle. He also recorded a 39.1-inch vertical, which tied for eighth-best at the event.

Robinson's offer list includes Kansas StateColorado StateSouthern MissMiddle Tennessee State, North TexasTulane, and ULL. Robinson's first two visits have been Kansas State and Tulane.

Defensive ends coach Blake Seiler recruits Robinson for Kansas State.

"They like how I can play up top and cover the middle of the field, but they also like I how I can come down in the box and make a tackle here and there," Robinson said. "They want me to be more of a nickel, and they like the way I can tackle, but also cover the slot guy."

K-State was the first Power Five school to offer Robinson, but the Wildcats will not be the last.

Schools such as Mississippi StateArkansas, and Ole Miss have recently shown interest. Robinson said all three schools want to see him practice this spring.

"Mississippi State, Arkansas. Arkansas is hitting me heavy right now. They want to come see me in the spring," he said. "Ole Miss is hitting me heavy. Arizona State and Arizona have been hitting me real heavy with the mail."

What Robinson lacks in ideal size relative to the safety position, he compensates with excellent natural football ability and intuition. He's smart in coverage and ball-aware, while also providing the hard-hitting backbone wanted in most safety roles.

Robinson and teammate Jamiran James will have college coaches flocking to De La Salle High School this spring. Stick with Scout as we continue to monitor Robinson's recruitment and development.
