Rising Louisiana 2018 Receiver Jared Miles Talks TCU, Houston

NEW ORLEANS -- Rising Louisiana receiver Jared Miles has hit double-digit offers and will see more this offseason. At The Opening New Orleans, Scout caught up with Miles, who's picked up recent offers from TCU, Houston, and others.

Schools have started lining up for 2018 receiver Jared Miles from traditional New Orleans football power McDonogh 35.

The 6-foot, 184-pound wideout told Scout at this past weekend's The Opening New Orleans to break down the latest in his recruitment, including recent offers from programs such as TCU and Houston, both of which he said he has visited as well.

Miles said receivers coach Darrell Wyatt recruits him for Houston.

"He's just telling me to keep working hard, keep working on my drills, and getting faster and getting stronger," said Miles, who visited Houston earlier in March. "It's a great school and great education. I like the way their offense plays."

Outside receivers coach and longtime TCU assistant Rusty Burns recruits Miles for the Horned Frogs.

"TCU is the same way as Houston with the spread offense and all that," Miles said. "I like the way they use their receivers because they get the ball all the time."

Since the interview, Miles garnered offers from West Virginia and Colorado State. He also holds offers from Oregon State, SMU, Middle Tennessee State, Troy, Tulane, and UTSA for a grand total of 10 FBS offers, including three from Power Five conference programs.

Miles tested well at The Opening New Orleans, where he recorded a Nike Football Rating of 98.73. Miles ran a 4.69-second laser-timed 40, in addition to a 4.31 shuttle. He also registered an impressive 36.4-inch vertical.

McDonogh 35 is also home to talents Lawrence Keys III (receiver) and Joseph Foucha (safety) -- two of the top players in Louisiana at their respective positions -- and FBS-offered defensive lineman Devin Winters.
