ACC programs showing interest 2019 RB Cameron Hutchinson

Havelock (N.C.) sophomore Cameron Hutchinson is poised to be one of the top 2019 running backs in the state and spoke with Scout.

Havelock has produced countless major college prospects through the years and 2019 running back Cameron Hutchinson is poised to be the next one.

NC State is recruiting him and he visited last week.

"We watched them practice and it was cool," said the 6-foot, 215-pound Hutchinson. "Watching the practice was my favorite part of the trip. It was very competitive and they practiced hard. We also talked to the strength and conditioning coaches and I enjoyed that, too. The facilities they have are also really nice.

"(Running backs) coach (Desmond) Kitchings is my recruiter and I've known him since my freshman year. He always stays in touch and tells me about the running backs and what they're doing in practice. I think we have a really good relationship."

Another schools showing interest is Duke.

"They have a great combination of academics and football," Hutchinson said. "I haven't visited yet, but have heard the campus is really nice. Hopefully, I'll be able to get up there soon. I'd like to visit this spring, but if not, I'll definitely camp there this summer. I want to see the campus and facilities -- and just get feel for the school overall.

"(Running backs) coach (Re'quan) Boyette is recruiting me and he's a nice guy. It's easy to talk to him and I'm looking forward to developing a good relationship with him. When I visit, I want to bond with him and get to know the rest of the coaches."

Besides the aforementioned schools, Hutchinson said he hoped to hear from Virginia TechSouth Carolina and Auburn in the near future.
