Class of 2019 Recruiting Focus on Safety Jamal Morris

Scout shines its recruiting spotlight on Class of 2019 safety Jamal Morris, who already has his first offer and is hearing from P5 programs...

Jamal Morris, a 6-foot-2, 174-pound safety from Richmond (Texas) George Bush is going to be a top target n the 2019 cycle. He has alredy secured his first offer which was a big moment.

"I got SMU," Morris said. "They are pretty hot on me.

"I was just blessed. I saw my mama crying. We are from New Orleans Louisiana, you know and if you are born there there is not a lot and the chances making it from there are slim, so I am just blessed to have it (opportunity) and I am looking forward to it."

What qualities does Morris feels he brings to the table and who does he look up to for on the field inspiration?

"I am a special player because there are not many 6’2 safeties who can move the way I move or hit the way I can hit," Adams said of his strengths. "I look up to Jamal Adams a lot. I look up to Derwin James at Florida State. They are hitters man, they are ballers and that is why I look up to them."

What other schools are currently tracking Morris?

"I got Baylor coming at me. I got other schools like Maryland and Minnesota," Morris said. "There are a lot of schools. I know it is going to get crazy, I know it is still early for me because I a only a sophomore, but I know it is going to get crazy."

What other schools would the big-framed Class of 2019 phenom like to hear from?

"LSU of course because that is home and everybody wants to play for their hometown team," Morris explained. "But I know when I get older and start going on on these visits I know my perspective is going to change.  I know I like Baylor and I like Florida State, because of my boy Derwin. I like U-of-H, Texas A&M.

I like a lot of schools."
