Evaluation + Stats:
Trent Gordon is a Power Five conference-caliber defensive back prospect who will likely play cornerback at the next level, though he's thrived as a safety in high school. Gordon looks and plays bigger than his 5-foot-11 listing suggests, and he's long and lean, giving him plenty of space to add bulk in college. Gordon plays for one of Texas' strongest Class 5A programs and will accustomed to good competition both in practice and games. He's a smart player who anticipates where the ball is going, whether defending the pass or the run. Gordon closes fast and can deliver the big hit. Those traits could also translate as a blitzer at the next level. Being a somewhat long-limbed DB, Gordon can improve his balance and lateral fluidity, but he possesses the tools to be a high-major cover man. - Gabe Brooks
Gordon enjoyed a strong junior season as he helped Manvel High School to a 13-1 finish and the Texas Class 5A Division I state quarterfinals. He recorded 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, two INT's, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 10 pass breakups primarily as a safety.
