Dante Stills, the No. 1 player in West Virginia in the 2018 class, was going to release his trimmed list of schools in the summer, but he pushed up the decision a few months because of his progress with the process.

So Sunday evening the 6-foot-4, 265-pound Stills named North CarolinaPenn StateOklahomaLouisvilleWest Virginia and Virginia Tech his top six schools.

"It feels right to do it now," said Stills, who plays at Fairmont (W. Va.) High. "I feel comfortable with these six schools. I'm going to take all five (official visits). I am going to make unofficials to all the schools and then probably make my five officials."

Stills said there is no order for the six schools and a decision would come after he made five official visits in the fall, with some of those trips possibly spilling into the winter.

He broke down what he likes about each of the six schools with Scout:

Louisville: "They show me a lot of love. I haven't visited them yet, but I'm definitely going to visit them a couple of times -- in the spring and summer, and maybe for a game or two. I have a lot of family there. That is a big factor. I'm not going to be away from family, so that is a big factor."

North Carolina: "Chapel Hill is beautiful. I like the coaching staff, I like the area, so it is stuff like that. I went down there for a camp and I felt really comfortable around the coaching staff. I like the school."

Oklahoma: "It's one of my biggest offers. I'm going down on April 14, around that date, for my spring break. I am definitely going to make it down there then, and make it down there again in the summertime. I have not been there yet."

Penn State: "It's nice there. Great atmosphere, 107,000 screaming. I like the coaching staff. I felt real comfortable there.

Virginia Tech: "I've been there two or three times, the coaching staff is showing me a lot of love, and I got along with the coaching staff really well. There is not any negative energy or awkwardness. I felt feel comfortable around them."

West Virginia: "I've been around them my whole life. I live 20 minutes away from there, my dad played there -- everyone knows that -- and my brother (Darius Stills) just committed there during the last football season. A lot of people want me to go there. It's a family school, but I have to go wherever I fit in."
