Brennan Jackson has had an impressive off-season showing plenty of versatility and athleticism.
He's a natural defensive end but has worked out at linebacker during the 7v7 circuit and looked good. He's all of 6-4, 220 pounds with the frame to easily pack on another 20-30 pounds in the next 2-3 years with ease. He's a physical player with a nice edge to his game and is a good athlete for a player his size with plenty of upside.
On the recruiting front, Jackson recently visited San Diego State and had nothing but positive things to say about the Aztec program.
"I really liked it there, SDSU is a very good fit for me," Jackson said. "Coach (Ernie) Lawson is my primary recruiter there and I love his coaching philosophy. It's all about every position swarms to the ball, no matter how far away you are from the play, you have to go 110%, start to finish.
"I was able to sit down and watch film with him from last season and you can definitely see this. I was there for the Spring Game and you could see there too. They're extremely physical and everyone swarms to the ball. The location is good too. It's close to home and my whole family could see my games so there is a lot to like about the program right now."
With two weeks off for Spring Break, Jackson has more visits coming up.
"Next Tuesday (April 4), I'm flying out to Washington State," Jackson said. "I'll be there until Thursday and I'm really excited for this trip. Ken Wilson is my main recruiter and Washington State is a nice program and they have been recruiting me hard for a while now.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the campus and learning more about the program and how they see me scheme wise. I want to try and visit UCLA again next week and would like to check out Cal as well if I can during the Break. I'm planning to commit by the end of the summer but I could shut things down earlier if I fall in love with a school and feel at home there."
