Three-Star WR C.J Parks Talks Recent Offers, Timeframe For a Decision

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide out C.J Parks is among the most under-rated and under-recruited players out West but he's starting to see his recruitment pick up in the last month.

Monarch wide out C.J. Parks first caught our eye last Spring during the 7v7 circuit, showing off some of the best pair of hands we saw out West.

He went on to have a very solid junior season playing alongside four other Div I receivers and has picked up right where he left off this off-season. Parks is more quick than fast but knows how to get open, does a nice job after the catch and is again showing he should be in the discussion when talking about what receivers have the best hands in the region.

On the recruiting front, it took a bit for things to get moving with Parks but he's now up to five scholarship offers. Howard, Maine, Montana State, Nevada and New Mexico Highlands have thrown their hat in the ring with offers in the last couple of months.

"Of that group, I talk with Coach Norvell at Nevada the most," Parks said."He sends me motivation every day and I can tell he really wants me to come and play for him. I would like to visit later in the Spring but need to talk it over with my dad and get them connected with each other.

"Fresno State and Iowa State are a few other schools I would be interested in visiting. They're both talking to me and showing some interest. I'm not sure who could be my next offer, they kind of come out of nowhere but I'm just glad they're starting to come in for me. I knew they would come, I just tried to block out the distractions and grind, my work ethic never teetered."

As for a decision timeframe, Parks is in no rush to commit anywhere.

"It will be after my season," Parks said. "I want to play my season out because I think more schools will jump on me after my senior year. I'm hoping to have a big year and then we'll see where things are at afterwards. Only God knows what's coming my way so I'm staying patient."
