Xenia wide receiver Meechi Harris is one of the fastest rising prospects in the Midwest, and the Ohio product is currently ranked as a three-star recruit on Scout.
Harris shows good speed and athletic ability, plus the ability to make tough catches in traffic. It's no secret why college coaches hold him in high regard.
"I think I'm a player that is a leader and very athletic, so I can play all over the field for my team," Harris stated. "As a receiver, my athleticism helps me so much but I'm also a good route runner."
"I'm working this off season on getting bigger in the weight room, because I have the speed and quickness," he added.
With 15 offers to his credit, Harris has hit the recruiting radar in a big way and there are a few schools sticking out to him.
"I've only been to four schools, so I don't want to name anyone as a favorite until I get out and see more of these schools that have offered," Harris explained. "I have visited Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan State and Toledo."
"I liked Cincinnati and I think Luke Fickell is going to do a great job as their head coach," he said. "Michigan State has a great program, and I liked the campus and the coaching staff. Kentucky has a great campus and they are getting better in the SEC."
Harris also visited Ohio State recently, and even though the Buckeyes have not offered the in-state star, Harris was impressed by what he saw in Columbus.
"I really like Ohio State a lot, and I know they're doing their out of state recruiting now, before they come to the Ohio guys," he admitted. "I'm just waiting to see what happens about an offer, and I'm just staying patient."
"I did speak with Urban Meyer and he told me I was a really good player," Harris noted. "He said he loved my film and wants to see me more. Coach Meyer said the offer is going to come, but he didn't want to rush it."
