2018 OL Taurrian Stafford 'Busted Into Tears' Following SEC Offer from Auburn

There is a "top" school in the recruitment of 2018 Miami-based offensive lineman, Taurrian Stafford, who is 24 hours removed from landing an SEC offer.

The initial Power Five opportunity is now on the table for 6-foot-4, 320-pound Taurrian Stafford, who scooped up an offer from coach Gus Malzahn and Auburn on Tuesday evening.

Stafford, who went through a whirlwind of emotions after receiving word of his initial Power Five opportunity, is armed with additional scholarship offers from MarshallSouth Florida and Florida A&M.

"I've been working my butt off day in and day out, and when (offensive line) coach (Herb) Hand offered me, I just busted into tears," Stafford said. "I used to search my name and didn't even have a Rivals, Scout or 247 profile.

"I wanted to give up at times, but I stuck in there and carried my weight."

The 2018 prospect at Miami Central is generating a whole lot of interest at center, but sliding over to guard is definitely not out of the question either.

"I like the way Auburn's offense is set up, and with me being versatile to play the whole line, I can get a shot at playing early," Stafford said. "It was short, but (coach Hand) said he liked my abilities and footwork in pass and run blocking."

Stafford has nearly a whole year to expand his offer sheet, but says Louisville, who has not offered, is the school sitting out front in his recruitment.

Louisville's offensive line coach, Mike Summers, is also planning to journey down to one of Stafford's practices later this spring.

"My top school is Louisville," Stafford said. "I love their aggression and I'd be a perfect fit for them. I'd be able to block for Lamar Jackson during my freshman year."

Stafford says Florida, Miami (Fl)ArkansasLouisville and Toledo will receive visits over the summertime.
