ACC, Big 12 and SEC programs among the suitors for No. 2 Ga. RB Lyn-J Dixon

BUFORD, Ga. -- Butler (Ga.) Taylor County standout Lyn-J Dixon is one of the top running backs in the South and he spoke with Scout about his recruitment at The Opening Atlanta.

Lyn-J Dixon is approaching 20 scholarship offers.

Despite all the interest, the 5-foot-10 ½, 178-pound Dixon is taking his time with the recruiting process.

"I'm still considering everyone, but plan on narrowing things down after the third game of the season," Dixon said. "OklahomaOklahoma StateTennesseeLSUGeorgia Tech, Notre Dame and Michigan are recruiting me hardest."

His most recent visit was Tennessee earlier this month for a junior day.

"I got a good vibe on the visit and felt very welcome," Dixon said. "I was able to sit down and talk one-on-one with coach (Butch) Jones and we have a really good connection. He told me that they really want me and I remind them of (former Tennessee running back) Alvin Kamara.

"I also had a chance to see the campus and learn more about the academics. Overall, it was a great visit and I enjoyed everything."

Where will he visit next?

"I'm going to Clemson on Saturday," Dixon said. "I'm really looking forward to watching them practice and seeing how they do things. I also want to see how the coaches and players interact with each other.

"(Running backs) coach (Tony) Elliott is recruiting me and we have a good relationship. We talk a lot and he's been telling me to just be patient because I haven't gotten an offer from them yet. An offer from them would definitely mean a lot."

Besides Clemson, he also plans to visit Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this spring.
