He is excited about his future with the Buckeyes.
"Ohio State was my dream school and I've always wanted to go there," said the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Jones. "When I got the opportunity, I took it. I'm really excited and can't wait to get started.
"Braxton Miller was my favorite quarterback when I was younger and I feel like I could do something similar to what he did in that offense. I have a great relationship with the coaches, too, and just think it's the best place for me."
He has already developed a strong relationship with head coach Urban Meyer.
"We have a close relationship and he always stays in contact," Jones said. "He's told me that if I come in and work hard and learn things quickly, I could have a chance to play early.
"Coach Meyer is all about family and I feel that's really important, especially going that far away from home. My mom feels the same way."
The Heard County standout has high goals at the next level.
"I'm going to work as hard as I can and to be the best quarterback I can be," Jones said. "Ultimately, I want to be one of the best to ever play at Ohio State."
