Several ACC and SEC programs pursuing 2019 OLB King Mwikuta

BUFORD, Ga. -- LaGrange (Ga.) Troup County outside linebacker King Mwikuta is one of the top 2019 prospects in the country and spoke with Scout at The Opening Atlanta.

King Mwikuta was one of top performers at last weekend's The Opening Atlanta.

His recruitment is gaining momentum. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Mwikuta already holds offers from AlabamaAuburnGeorgiaLouisville and Wake Forest among others.  Clemson is also showing significant interest.

According to Mwikuta, Alabama, Georgia and Clemson are recruiting him hardest, and he gave a thought on each.

Alabama: "I like their culture and tradition," Mwikuta said. "I've talked to coach (Nick) Saban and (outside linebacker) coach (Tosh) Lupoi and I look at them as father figures."

Georgia: "I like (outside linebackers) coach (Kevin) Sherrer and coach (Kirby) Smart. They've been telling me they want to keep the best in-state guys at home and it means a lot they're showing so much love."

Clemson: "That was the last place I visited. I like the facilities and coaches. Coach (Dabo) Swinney is cool, but he's intense. I've also talked to (defensive backs) coach (Mike) Reed and I like him a lot."

In regards to upcoming visits, Mwituka's next stop will be Auburn. He also plans to take trips to Alabama and Georgia this spring.
