SEC Program Leads for South's 15th-Ranked ATH Shocky Jacques-Louis

A leader has emerged in the recruitment of Sunshine State native and the 15th-ranked athlete in the South, Shocky Jacques-Louis.

The persistence is paying off for coach Mark Stoops and Kentucky, who now lead for the nation's 47th-ranked athlete and Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar star, Shocky Jacques-Louis.

Jacques-Louis, a 6-foot-2, 165-pound junior who is generating a whole lot of interest at receiver, possesses a stable of additional offers from GeorgiaNorth CarolinaMinnesotaMissouriIndiana and South Carolina among others.

"Top school, I would say Kentucky," Jacques-Louis said. "They have showed consistency throughout my recruitment since offering after my freshman season."

Jacques-Louis has already journeyed up to Lexington on his own dime, and admits he was taken aback by the Wildcats' state-of-the-art football facilities.

"(Quarterbacks) coach (Darin) Hinshaw is always checking up on me," Jacques-Louis said. "When I visited Kentucky in January, the staff made me feel at home. Everything is new. I really didn't get to explore the whole campus."

Kentucky is the school pushing hardest at this time, but Jacques-Louis says MissouriMaryland and South Florida are "turning it up" as well.

The 15th-ranked athlete in the South is still educating himself on what life would be like as a Maryland Terrapin, but is certainly feeling the love from coach D.J. Durkin's staff.

"I haven't had the opportunity to visit yet, but I like that the (Maryland) coaches show major interest and emphasize that I'm a priority for them," Jacques-Louis said. "It feels good."

Jacques-Louis is eyeing visits with South Florida, MarylandMissouriGeorgia and Kentucky, but no dates have been set.

Stay tuned to Scout for the latest developments in Jacques-Louis' recruitment.
