South's 35th-ranked RB Nolan Edmonds

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Three-star Alpharetta (Ga.) running back Nolan Edmonds committed to Minnesota about three weeks ago and he spoke with Scout at the Under Amour All-America Atlanta Camp.

Nolan Edmonds committed to Minnesota on March 15.

He is happy about his decision.

"They had everything I'm looking for academically and athletically," said the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Edmonds. "I also feel like it's a good fit and I have family up there."

What will he bring to the program?

"I want to do whatever they need to help the team be successful," Edmonds said. "I'm a complete back. I can run, catch the ball and block."

Edmonds has already developed strong relationships with multiple coaches on the staff.

"I talk to coach (P.J.) Fleck, (defensive backs) coach (Maurice) Linguist and (running backs) coach (Kenni) Burns a lot," Edmonds said. "They played a big role in my decision because they're always honest and have high expectations for me."

The Alpharetta standout is looking forward to playing for Fleck.

"He's different than a lot of the coaches I got to know during the recruiting process," Edmonds said. "He's young and has a lot of enthusiasm. He's also been very successful and I know he's going to do a great job at Minnesota."
