Jalen Redmond, a 6-foot-4, 221-pounder is a two-sport star at Midwest City (Okla.), but as a football prospect he has racked up 15+ offers and has caught the attention of a number of major programs.
"I think it is the speed I have getting off the line," Redmond said of his strengths and why he has garnered such interest on the recruiting trail, "that is is what I think it is, my speed and athleticism.
Basketball, I think it gives me an advantage. It helps me with a bunch of skills on the field, so it is literally an advantage with footwork, speed, you know running up and and down, it helps you a lot."
With 15 offers on the table three traditional offers are ones that Redmond touched on. He is not naming a favorites list here, but one of the schools is in the most contact and two are huge recent offers.
Redmond is on the list to make a return trip to Norman, Okla., for the Sooners spring game.
"I love their coaching staff," Redmond said. "They are so hands on. They communicate all the time and not just one coach, mostly all of them will reach out and see what is going on -- ask me about basketball and stuff like that."
Redmond does not have a clear timeline for his commitment at this time.
"I don't want t wait the whole time until February, but right now I couldn't even tell you where I want to go, so it might be awhile," Redmond finished.
