Scooping up First Offer a 'Surreal Feeling' for Speedy 2018 ATH Terrence Horne, Jr.

A Pac-12 school has stepped forward with the initial scholarship offer for speedy 2018 athlete, Terrence Horne, Jr.

Terrence Horne Jr., a dynamic 2018 athlete who recently transferred into Miramar (Fla.) High, had his prayers answered Friday afternoon when Oregon State pulled the trigger with offer No. 1.

Equipped with game-changing speed, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Horne is a do-it-all threat on the offensive side of the ball, but is being recruited to play running back for coach Gary Andersen and the Beavers.

"Landing my first offer is honestly a surreal feeling," Horne said. "After winning a state championship at Carol City, plenty of people would come up to me and ask, 'Why don't you have an offer yet, bro?'

"I would just tell them, 'I don't know,' but they gave me something to work for. I've honestly worked so hard and seeing it pay off is truly a blessing, and I would like to give God all the glory."

Horne, who is garnering interest from a flurry of additional schools, including LouisvilleKentucky and Pittsburgh, is brimming with joy knowing he has the opportunity to showcase his worth for a Power Five program.

"I am really interested in Oregon State because they are one of the schools who showed interest in me first," Horne said. "I like that they play in the Pac-12, which is a highly-touted conference filled with competition, and I love competition.

"And from watching their games on TV, their atmosphere seems really exciting and hyped."

Ace recruiter and OSU's running backs coach, Telly Lockette, a Miami native, is the staff member who provided Horne with the life-changing news.

"He called and explained to me how him and the staff would be really excited to have me over at Oregon State, and then offered me," Horne said. "I thanked coach Telly so much for the opportunity."

Horne hopes to expand his offer sheet when attending UCF's junior day tomorrow afternoon.
