In-State 2019 WR John Dunmore Provides the Florida Gators With a Boatload of Potential

Scout dissects the skill set of new Florida Gators commit and 2019 wide receiver, John Dunmore.

Name: John Dunmore

Class: 2019

Position: Wide Receiver

Height/Weight: 6-foot-2.5, 172 Pounds

Location/School: Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage

Committed to: Florida Gators

Recruiting Notes: Dunmore selected Florida over additional offers from SyracuseWest Virginia and Florida A&M.

Scouting Report:

It is difficult to locate freshmen and sophomore receivers who are willing blockers on the perimeter, but that is not an issue for Dunmore. This lengthy receiver is relentless when locking onto defenders down the field, and also does a nice job of steering them out of the play to create space.

Dunmore makes full use of his intriguing wingspan. He is a bouncy, smooth type of athlete who releases off the line with ease, but his ability to track the football away from his body stands out as well. He times his jump, and does a good job of zoning in on the ball. Dunmore makes things look effortless at times.

Dunmore needs to strengthen up his frame and pack on weight, but has over two years to really attack the weight room. He flashes that quick twitch when engaged in one-on-one situations, and then gets his pads north and south to advance the ball. That was on full display The Opening Miami Regional, where he was arguably the top performer for his class.

Dunmore is the type of receiver who can bail out quarterbacks. His ability to twist and turn when adjusting to the ball grasps your attention in a hurry. A future four-star prospect, Dunmore is a national recruit and one of the Sunshine State's premier receivers for the class of 2019.
