Demetri Morsell, the No. 44 safety in the nation, is waiting until the late spring and summer to visit schools, but a pair of schools already are pushing to the forefront.

The 5-foot-10 1/2, 171-pound Morsell holds offers from Buffalo and Rutgers, and both schools are talking to him about how he fits in the defense. He is rated as a safety, which is where Scout projects him to play.

"It's whatever they want me to play I," Morsell said. "can see myself at corner. I like coverage."

Rutgers dipped into Upper Marlboro (Md.) Wise in the 2016 class to sign cornerback Damon Hayes, who played a significant role for the Scarlet Knights as a freshman.

Morsell is yet to visit campus, but he said it is only a matter of time before he gets there.

"I'm going up to Rutgers in the summer, but I don't know when yet. It will probably be in the summer," he said. "(Hayes) said it was real nice and the facilities are real good."

Morsell's main recruiter is cornerbacks coach Henry Baker, and the two speak regularly.

"I want to see how they work out, their work ethic," Morsell said.
