Vettorello planning visits, narrowed lists

University of Detroit Jesuit offensive lineman Carlos Vettorello will visit several schools in the coming weeks then look to narrow the field in his recruitment.

University of Detroit Jesuit's Carlos Vettorello is one of the Midwest's most heavily recruited linemen.

Vettorello holds offers from schools like MinnesotaIowaWisconsinBoston CollegeVanderbilt and more. His most recent visit was to see the Commodores.

"I was at Vanderbilt. It was great," Vettorello said, "just their academics and what they have to offer and everything."

This weekend, he heads to the Twin Cities with teammate Elijah Collins. Collins, a running back with a slew of offers himself, said the two teammates have talked about the possibility of playing together in college again. Vettorello believes these visits will help him narrow his list in the near future.

"I visit Minnesota the 15th and Oregon and Oregon State sometime through the 18th and 19th," Vettorello said. "Sometime after spring break, I'll probably come out with my top five."

Vettorello is not ready to name any favorites right now, but he has visited the Hawkeyes, Badgers and Eagles as well, so following this next group of visits, he will have the information needed to cut his list down. He will also find out if the Ducks and Beavers will offer scholarships on those visits.

From there, he would like to move towards a commitment.

"Ideally, I'd like to commit before the season, he said, "but if I have to, I'll take the time."
