A few weeks ago it seemed everything was falling into place for Columbus DeSales three-star linebacker Brian Asamoah, as he had narrowed his list to six schools and had his date set to announce his commitment.
But Asamoah has had a change in heart, and will now take things slower in an attempt to find the right school. He previously listed Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA and West Virginia as his finalists.
"Right now, I've reopened my recruitment to give every school an opportunity," Asamoah stated. "I want to take more visits to see which school is the best fit for me, and continue with the process."
"I felt like I was really rushing things, and this decision is too important to rush, so I decided to slow things down," he said. "In talking to my family, they said I really didn't do all the research on every school. I just want to find the best fit for me."
"I'm going to Ohio State this Saturday for their spring game," he added. "I want to get more spring visits, as well as summer visits planned going forward. I don't want to set a timetable to make a decision right now."
Even though Ohio State has not offered the hometown star, Asamoah wants to give the Buckeyes a close look in case they do decide to pull the trigger.
"All the six schools I had on my list are still there, and there are schools that might still offer, so I just want to make sure I find the right school for me," he concluded.
